Tiny Seeds, Big Dreams: Why Every Beginner Gardener Needs a Planner Like This One

When I first started gardening, I planted everything and hoped for the best. Lettuce next to capsicum, tomatoes in the shadiest corner, carrots in soil that might as well have been concrete. I had no clue what I was doing — I just wanted to grow something.

Fast forward a few years and, while I’m still learning, I now know that a little bit of planning goes a long way. But I’ll be honest — I still forget when I last fertilised the garden or which pesky critter hates marigolds (was it aphids or whitefly again?). That’s why I created my own garden planner, and I’m so excited to share it with you.

Introducing: Tiny Seeds, Big Dreams — A Guided Garden Journal for First-Time Growers 🌱

Why I Made This Planner

I wish I had this when I started.

Back then, I didn’t know what plants liked each other, when to sow what, or that timing could make or break a harvest. And when things didn’t work out, I had no idea why. I’d think, “Maybe I just have a black thumb?” (Spoiler: I didn’t.)

What I really needed was a way to track what I was doing in the garden — not just what I planted, but when, where, and how I looked after it. A way to keep track of all the things I learnt along the way, so I didn’t forget them!

This planner was born out of that very need.

It’s designed to help beginner gardeners feel less overwhelmed and more confident — like you’ve got a friendly guide by your side (with dirt under their fingernails and a cuppa in hand, of course).

What’s Inside the Journal?

This isn’t a blank notebook you’ll abandon after two pages. Tiny Seeds, Big Dreams is a guided journal full of prompts and tracking pages to help you build a thriving garden from the ground up.

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

Planting Calendar – so you know exactly what to plant and when
Garden Layout Planning – perfect for raised beds, container setups or backyard patches
Fertiliser Tracker – never forget when you last fed your plants again
Pest & Problem Log – track what’s causing trouble and what actually fixes it
Harvest Tracker – see how much you’ve grown (and saved at the shops!)
Seasonal Tips – because gardening isn’t one-size-fits-all
Reflection Pages – jot down what worked and what you’d change next time

Take a look inside:

Made for Real-Life Gardens (and Real-Life Gardeners)

Whether you’re growing herbs on a balcony, starting your first veggie patch, or diving into a full-blown backyard food forest, this planner is built for YOU.

I kept it simple, friendly, and not too “perfectionist” — because life happens, weeds grow, and sometimes the tomatoes get sunburnt. It’s all part of the journey.

My Favourite Part? The Harvest Tracker 🍅

There’s something so satisfying about weighing your first harvest and jotting it down. I love comparing it to what I would’ve spent at the grocery store — it’s wild how quickly it adds up!

It makes all the early mornings, sweaty afternoons, and muddy knees totally worth it.

Final Thoughts

You don’t need to grow the perfect garden. You just need to start.

And with a little guidance, a few scribbles in your journal, and a whole lot of learning-by-doing, you’ll be harvesting your own homegrown food before you know it.

Happy gardening,
💚 Candice
